I really like the idea of an EPG, as a way of converting the rest of the household away from 'Cable' TV. I have played around with iVue and over the last few months I see it has come a long way. Even today there is an article about it being upgraded once again. excellent!
My Question about this is How can i add more channels, and maybe delete some channels that i don't use. If i want to add Channels from other countries, is there an option for that. or is there a different addon that I should be looking that?
Thanks
Ivue has a set list of xml files that you can choose from by default. It also has an option for a custom option. That is where you would need to go to for customization. There are several apps that allow you to generate an xml file. Webgrab+ plus is highly popular, but the configuration can be very frustrating. There is also mc2xml and zap2xml.
I use zap2xml. You register an account at zap2it, create a custom favorite list of channels, and then use zap2xml to pull your 7 day guide xml file. Now you only get one shot at this a week and zap2it caches your pull.
The next step would be making sure Ivue has support for the addon that you're pulling you channel from. If it doesn't, you'll need to put that stream in your favorites and add it to Ivue that way. You can also create custom strm files and do it that way if you know the url of the stream.
Also note that you'll have either manually pull new guide info each week or run the script on cron or windows scheduler depending on your OS. If you're using an Android based box, you'll also have to upload that file to the storage device on that. If you have the device on your network, you should be good to go.
