Hows it coming along? Do you have a beta?

trinipirate

I would suggest offering a 1 week free trial. You'll get all the proper feedback you need while you have high traffic at once.

Stalker can be run in a couple of different ways, but the most common that I've heard of is with a Kodi addon. Kodi is a media center program that can run on just about anything, PC, MAC, Android, RPi, and a couple others I've never heard of. The addons for kodi are the same no mater the platform, so that makes it much easier for developers to build for.

If you want to go a different route, or develop for other media center programs, or a stand alone app, at least this gives you an idea of the kind of hardware that can run a 1080p stream. Just about anything can really. I use a fire tv stick from Amazon, it has some trouble with the really resource heavy skins when they're trying to build a lot of animation. But as long as I use a skin that's not so resource heavy, it's rock solid.

BTW, if you're looking for a beta tester in Canada pm me. I'd be happy to try such a thing. If you like, I can keep all feedback between us, I'm no stranger to NDA's and the like.

Does your IPTV service (product) have a website with info?

sirbitman

Just a small update I'll be testing the system on the 15th 16th and yes it will be a Apk Android download, and Ruku App , youll have to signup for an account on the website or a link I send you and log on .. site not live yet. .

Edit. I was looking into having a Kodi app built That supports logins or mac address dont know yet still looking into that .

I'll be happy to test this out as well!

Hey, good luck with the service, unfortunately I am no from US so i guess i cannot beta test.

Anyway, as for how the other guys do it... Depends on what you are trying to do. I've been looking into it myself (not cause i have a service to sell or anything, but rather just something to play with as a hobby) and saw that most providers are using the MAG set tob boxes with the Stalker Portal as a combination.

Stalker Portal is just a portal where the MAG boxes connect to, it had an administration area where you can manage the channels, vod titles, radios, and other plugins as well, and best part, it is free and open source to use. I assume it works best on the MAG set top boxes, since it is made by the same company, though there is at least one "MAG" stb emulator for android, which works with the portal... There are also plugins for Kodi too, but im not sure if they offer all the features as the MAG device itself. A set top box like a MAG might not be as powerful as an android box, with kodi and stuff... but sure as hell is simpler (for clients) and easier to manage your clients (as admin) with.

This was the part for managing the boxes / clients and stream links, since i see that you already have the stream sources.

I know also about some tools that most are using to re-stream or even broadcast the channels with, i can give you some hints on that also if you want, but for now, i cannot type everything in my phone. Also sorry for any typos i may have done.

Good luck with the service again!

Would love to test this, am in Western Europe with a 1000mbit up/down connection. Im on Raspberry pi 2 with OpenELEC.

kimberlyann0507

I would love to try this out when ready, I have both a fire tv and fire sticks.

I would love to be a beta tester as well. I'm in the US, and am running an M8s android box. The free trial period is an awesome idea. Doesn't have to be an extended period or anything, a week at the most. But to "sample the goods" first would be a sure fire hook for me.

flipberkheimer

im in the usa and would be happy to test. im on a Rpi2 running openelec.

leetdemon

Will it be Kodi based or APK?

JAWheat411

Cool. UK channels are not a must, but I would pay a few extra dollars for sure

JAWheat411

How's everything going man? Anything new?

TruthExposed

If you need a tester located a few states down (NJ). Let me know. :)

Jdubb6915

I'd be a beta. I have average computer skills so I would be a good representative of the average user.

JAWheat411

Any news?

Laflamablanca11

Any news on this?? I don't want a trial or anything but if you need my help let me know

Jakeey802

I'm assuming this is ded

bookdip

Am late to the party here [story of my life lol], but I'm in Canada and running Rpi2/openelec/kodi and would be very interested in this service - both as a beta tester if you need any and as a customer.

whatitdomanz

Do you still need beta testers? I wouldn't mind.
