I'm a n00b in this area but I've been playing with a few Kodi plugins and programs for a while just on Windows but I'll move to one of the many Raspberry Pi2's I have or a dedicated android box. I think the best one so far is Schism, but the Stalker part of it already does not work on the newest release.
I have a few questions. If I can get it to be reliable I really don't mind paying a monthly price, I'm a bit confused as to what site to buy an account from, honestly they all look sketchy and there seems to be many different ones. Where can I see a list of available channels and compare if possible? When it comes down to it the wife has to approve of the channels before we cut the cable and upgrade the internet to support all of this streaming and if there's a hickup then I'll have to hear about it.
So basically if I stuck with Schism (because I like the layout) and buy a Stalker Mac address (from where I don't know), do I just have to update the mac address in the plugin settings and it should work? My main concern next to reliability is having a functioning TV Guide, and maybe recording which I don't seem to see anywhere.
I've been thinking about moving to a local IPTV service that's in my area but you have to move to their internet and after you're done paying $300+ for the hardware and installation charges it's still $120 a month, and that's what I'm paying right now!
Well for IPTV Stalker, you are looking at 105 USD/year and 90% of the channels are SD quality, there are clones out there that should let you get into their servers so you can see what you're paying for, I'd suggest you try http://i4atv.blogspot.ca/2015/11/i4atv-version-1000-is-here.html
and see if its worth the fee, also the stability of the service all depends on alot of things and I'm hearing a few people complaining of buffering issues during peak times.
like I said test it out and see if its worth it for you.
and you can buy stalker mac's from anywhere but be careful, I know a guy that sells it for 80$ USD if you're interested.
