The guy I bought it from wants $20 a month to keep it online. Just wanted to test the waters. I have to admit the picture quality is below average but at the same time I don't care about that too much as TV to me is just the background noise and I watch only a few select programs. Same thing goes for the apps. But, is the $20 a month a regular thing or is he taking an advantage of me and others here?
Depends. Im a reseller for IPTVsubs (primarily because people in my office don't want to use their cc). The charge per month is really dependent on whether you value the quality you're getting. I charge 13usd/month but I have no issues.

kodi takes a little longer to load channels but with an avov box you should have no issues.
