I am a bit of a cheapo, so I don't want to buy a box specially for IPTV unless I have to.

My current setup is through my Nexus 7 and to Chromecast.

I'm using the IPTV app and then casting through Bubble UPnP, which works pretty well. Except, for some channels the video needs to be transcoded and it buffers like crazy. Installing the BubbleUPnP server doesn't solve much. To get around this, I change to VLC and then mirror the screen, but then that leaves my tablet unusable.

Unfortunately the TVCast app and the Plex channel IPTV don't work. For whatever reason they just don't load any channels (maybe it's something I'm doing wrong?).

So, is there an easier way of doing things or should I just buy a box specially for the purpose?
