Perhaps you should have a look at myindian.tv . They provide Live Indian tv. They have Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi & Sports HD channels. I have been using them for quite a while. Stable and reliable so far. However, their website is so ugly. Almost didn't subscribe at first but they gave me a free trial. After the trial, I was convinced. Anyway, check them out. They might be what you are looking for.
IPTVsubs has a Hindi/Indian section, not sure of the quality and content. Try out the free one day subscription before purchasing.

There is always https://www.sling.com/international It just works and you can go back 8 days of programming on every channel. Not cheap but very family friendly.
