Need some advice (Plex,Emby,PVR)

by kerbys

I have a dedicated server i use for plex/Emby. Im looking at getting a decent iptv service (HD channels are prefured). Now the tough bit..

I share my server with my family and would ideally like to share this as well.. How will this work? do you tend to get 1 login at a time? Ive seen software out there that i can take a stream and then broadcast back out using my own server, is that correct?

Also can you record these streams?

Lots of questions but im a complete noob when it comes to IPTV! Any help will be hugely helpful!

Im not the brightest but you would need some type of m3u playlist and be able to serve all those people bandwith wise once you figure out how its getting cast out from plex / emby. im sure theres tutorials somewhere if you google iptv setup for emby or iptv setup for plex. also I think you could do this with an hd homerun prime headlessy

PVR Functionality is challenging. I had to pay for a service, and pay for software.

In my setup I have a Synology 212j. DVBLink is the software I use. (Pay Software, but worth it for .)

You could probably use TVHeadEnd working with a decently powered server. DVBLink got me over arm processor related issues.

I created a m3u list of channels with iptvsubs. Its great because you can generate an m3u playlist easily. I haven't found a better hd channel playlist yet.

I record streams from IPTV, but honestly I rely on sickbeard for most tv show content, and couchpotato for most movies.

IPTV fills in the gaps that cant be provided by these services.
