Xiaomi Mi Box

by trevordbs

Who's looking at migrating to this unit as an HTPC/AndroidTV box?

Looks promising, and won't need to side load to a fire stick, or use a Windows PC. Currently using FireStick in the bedroom and an HP Slim Desktop in the living room.

We should be able to install the Sony Android TV app for Amazon Prime Video; which helps.

Any thoughts from anyone else ?

First post on the sub clearly. Cord cutter for about 5 years now.

It looks like it has the S905H processor in it, which if it does, means 100% dolby licenses. If that is correct it means EVERYTHING sound wise will be passthrough. I seriously can't wait to get my hands on one to experiment as the people online have only done fucking benchmarks. I don't care how fast this thing is, I want to know what it can and cannot play PROPERLY.

I really wish cnx-software would get their hands on one to test.

I'm on the new Mi Box as of this weekend.

I subbed to TronicsCity this morning, installed and configed STB Emulator Pro APK, and saw some very positive results before I had to leave for work. I'll do a quick write up later after I watch during prime time and get a chance to mess with it a bit more.

Saw them online. Next day checked at Walmart and they had 1. Bought it immediately!

I can't wait for this thing to hit my little town. It will replace my standalone htpc and give me an easy way to emulate old games. :)
