Tired of the drama with Reboot, I want to create an IPTV alternative.

by DocsDelorean

There is a need in the Kodi community for a professional, paid, IPTV service. I want to create an add-on like Reboot that takes this market seriously.

Reboot is so frustrating for a few reasons:

  • It is being ran by reckless guys (don't get me wrong, Target is funny as fuck but he has pissed of alot of kodi devs)
  • They have recently experience alot of technical issues that require numerous re-configurations which is annoying.
  • Their logos and tv guide are corny

I want to put a team together that can create a quality, cheap IPTV service for kodi. I have a CS degree and I can program, and web develop, but I don't know anything about setting up large scale streaming servers. Is anyone willing to team up and make this happen?

This is my vision:

  • Easy to install for kodi
  • A Clean professional website and logo
  • A simplistic styled tvguide (like Renegades, M-TV, etc..)
  • An easy to use website for paying for the service
  • 90% uptime
  • Same price/channels as Reboot
  • LTS
  • Strong customer service
  • Maybe an incentive for resellers?

Thanks for hearing me out. If you are not interested I ask that you do not reply. Thank you.

Good luck.. I recommend xtream-codes as a panel to get you started. In my eyes On-Tapp.TV is the best TV Guide so when you get up running, speak to them to get integration, no need to start your own one.

Cheap IPTV means you don't control the channels, I doubt the uptime will be in your hands. Get speaking to the other cheap IPTV and see if you can restream/get in contact with their sellers.

Good luck with that! :)

There is no point in trying to establish a new service. There are far more established, stable, reliable and reputable services out there. You might want to use your time and probably help make those established IPTV services better. Why fix that something aint broken!

While I wish you good luck with your venture and hope you make it so that a power user like me can may be one day hop onto your service; I will stick to the ones I already have.

One thing I haven't seen is the option to record streams. For example keep up to half hour of the stream in buffer, so that when you are watching a game, and missed a moment you can instantly rewind it, or your wife calls you. You can pause the stream see what she wants, come back hit play and continue watching where you left off, without it jumping forward to the current position.

Omar brings it on himself with his attitude. But on the other hand Reboots cousin Dexter has been chugging along nicely for nearly a year with only a couple of blips, Good luck with your venture,,

I will admit I don't have experience dealing with video add-ons but here is my gut feel regarding your plan. There are many platforms and options to install and view add-ons. I suspect there is a TON of effort to provide (as you call it) Strong Customer Service. I bet it saps a lot of the time and energy from any person who runs an add-on. Then bacause you are flooded with basic and newbie questions you'll quickly get "this app sucks there is NO customer service bla bla bla".

Second, for some reason these add-ons are the target of many DDOS attacks. I don't know your background but I bet you'll be a target very soon. When you get targeted you'll again get people complaining that your service sucks.......get the idea?
