I've setup an emby media server for my household. It has an IPTV plugin that supports http, file (ts?), rtmp, and rtsp. All streaming is done through the server as a proxy of sorts. it can re-encode the stream from HD to SD. The server will be the client to the service and the only hardware visible to the service.
I've tested a few free links floating around, but I'm looking for something premium that will potentially accept up to 8 concurrent streams from one household. (4 tv's and 4 tablets, phones, pc's, ect)
Well, you can always give us a try! We do not limit the number of simultaneous streams, so I think you're good to go!
I, personally, once, started 16 channels at a same time, and my connection held and the server too so it worked flawlessly. :)
Here's a screenshot of it: http://i.imgur.com/eIPWQ6a.png 16 HLS streams played on 16 instances of VLC (borderless windows), using the m3u8 URL provided for each stream through our service. Then I just manually resized and positioned all the windows myself so I could get this "sextant" view.
