Casting IPTV from Kodi on Android Phone to TV with Chromecast

by taptapuntap

As the title suggests, I'm wondering if anyone has had success (or failure) with casting IPTV streams on Kodi from their Android phone to a Chromecast.

I'm new to Kodi and was able to get the video addons to stream just fine, but I don't know if there are limitations with the IPTV setups that would prevent it from working.

Any experience or advice that you can share would be appreciated.

Thank you

In theory it would work but would be slugish, remember mirror cast is only as good as the hardware is and so would slow down and buffer alot. Similarly its dependant on the wifi

I stream from my Android tablet using Kodi to my Chromecast.. It works great for everything except for live streams.. I haven't been able to figure it out. I can stream TV shows and movies from Exodus no problem but any live stream just won't load.

If you have a PVR setup to view live content, it is treated completely differently to normal streaming video on demand from add-ons. YouTube for example only works after a lot of setting up in PVR if at all.

If you have a m3u list, try using it through Playlist Loader add-on instead. You can then use an app such as LocalCast to stream from Kodi to your Chromecast.
