Circle vs. PayPal

by lefty59

Hi guys,

Looking to subscribe to a few services, I have previously used PayPal for.

I see a few threads on here recommending BTC over PayPal because of privacy and to use a site like circle to handle the transactions.

My question is how anonymous is BTC? What do you guys use? And what makes circle different to PayPal (in privacy terms)

BTC is not nearly as anonymous as people would have you believe even using tumbling services. Its still leaps and bounds more private than paypal. But unless you're a big drug dealer odds are you have very little to worry about using BTC. All its going to take is for someone like AlpraKing or TeamTrust to go down from block chain analyses before people consider other crypto-currencies.

But BTC > Paypal especially for IPTV. Why the hell would you pay for an illegal service using something linked to your bank account. Honestly some people.

If you use good opsec, BTC can be very anonymous

BTC is not 100% anonymous regardless of what you do, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It's a risk that only you can decide if you want to take.

I don't mean to hijack your thread but would it be possible to purchase a PayPal gift card locally and load it onto a disposable account which is not linked to your actual bank account/personal email? Seems like this would be both an anonymous and easy transaction for you.

Edit: I have tried this with a prepaid visa without success. It wanted to verify my identity prior to loading funds. Just wondering if maybe a PayPal gift card would work differently.

With circle.com, do you have to buy a whole coin or can u get partial? $600 for 1 coin is way outta my price range.
