I am quite new with IpTv and I was wondering if I should buy a Mag Box or install Kodi on my android TV? Does it have any difference on performance way?
Does all providers offer Mag and Kodi support? If not, which one is more popular?

I got a mag just for the guaranteed EPG support.
A MAG box can be a PVR because you can record shows.
Kodi cannot.
I went from constant freezing on a Kodi box to moderate freezing on a MAG box. Better than nothing and I'm happy.
MAG for stalker and VOD kodi .. better EPG ... i use both
Does all providers (or at least main ones) provides support for Kodi or other Android server?
Or MAG is widely supported method?
if i have kodi/Openelec setup in raspberry pi, and buy iptv subscriptions is that enough to set it up in kodi or do i need to buy mag box ? i meant to ask is magbox any different from pre-installed kodi boxes sold online or are they different beast altogether, so am i way off in my understanding of mag box ?

A Mag will use the epg from the server as will any decent 3rd party Android app. There is really no benefits to a Mag box in my opinion where as the benefits of a good Android box are many.
Free trials here and you can put on any number of devices and apps so you can try them all.
