Looking for a DVR/IPTV with guide solution

by 0010000100111111

So, I've been researching all day and I seem to be at a loss.

There are too many choices to search through and I am having some difficulty seeing which solution would be most appropriate for my needs.

I would like to get rid of my family's current cable provider and replace it with IPTV.

Must haves include a TV Guide menu similar to cable. And I also need the ability to program and save shows. Ideally I would like to do this to an internal fileserver.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Use our service with a combination of Prog TV and another app and multiroom account and you can watch on one device while another pvr's a show.

Good luck trying to find something user friendly that can record channels.

There is no real IPTV solution that will allow you to record...

However!

The best FREE option is to find an old crappy computer laying around, and turn it into a custom PVR...use Sonarr for tv shows, Couch Potato for movies.

This setup will cost you absolutely nothing and if configured correctly will get EVERY tv show, EVERY network, commercial free in HD (if you have your sources set up right).

Then for live news/sports, use something like ipguys .

This will give you a rock solid cable replacement for less than 15 a month (depending what usenet servers you subscribe to or if you have access to private torrent sites).

If you need any help setting this up I'm sure there is lots of info on here!

Same here. I don't use my IPTV for Movies etc. I only use it for Enduro racing and SuperCross etc. Did you ever find a solution?

Unless you really want to watch everything "live", you can get a VPN service and download tv shows and stuff from torrent sites. To watch live TV for sports and other events that are nicer to watch live, I'd get iptv.

This all depends what channels you really want and whatnot. If you could elaborate i can give you some different options.
