Need recommendations for IPTV setup for parents

by jaakhaamer

Hey r/IPTV,

My parents have recently cut the cord, and I'm trying to set up a nice Kodi-based IPTV box for them. I'm experienced with Kodi, but new to IPTV.

Their needs are very basic: some movie/series channels, at least one good English-language news channel, and some motorsports (particularly F1).

They're fine with paying a subscription fee if that means better quality (they're currently using NTV.mx). They used to pay $60/month for cable so anything below that is good. HD is not necessary, but would be a bonus.

Since it's for my parents, I'd like to make it as user-friendly as possible, so something with EPG capabilities/Live TV integration in Kodi would be nice. Also, a setup which requires as little configuration as possible after the initial setup would be preferable, so that I won't have to play the tech support guy too often.

TIA

We over at /r/Ruya have both UK and US channels, including Sky F1 for your F1 needs. We are a subscription based service, very easy to use once set up. Drop me a message or visit us on our subreddit and we'll get you set up.

For your parents í recommend ntv and mag box. mag box is very easy to use. NTV is very stable iptv provider

UK or USA channels?

I would recommend to do some research work through this subreddit and see which one is recommended by normal users. Otherwise you will get replies from sellers and obviously all of them will talk wonders about their service.

Most providers that support Stalker middleware will be able to offer what you're looking for for much cheaper than NTV.

You didn't mention though where you are from, and what kinda local channels they want.

If they are looking for Canadian content, there's some really rock solid providers out there for about $10USD a month or less. Not all providers are created equal though!

I am in the same exact boat. If I decide to pull the trigger I will setup Perfect Player with a service - perhaps Flawless. Like you I hate the calls from them since they are clueless with technology. I am not going to even consider showing them Exodus or SALTS. A nice player (Perfect Player or Mayfair Guide) is all they need and they can scroll and select what to watch till the cows come home.

This would be perfect. Check the demo out here https://youtu.be/k_cmimvfTa4

Fully integrated IVue TV Guide so no setup required. Plus guides are hosted by themselves and you can choose the correct guide depending on which package you are subscribed too.

The build is fully supported too. If they have a problem then they should be able to go to the website for help. Check it out.

What box did you end up going with, and what provider? Thanks!
