New to the game, have some questions and need some help:

Ok, so I've read about IPTV and I have seen some of your recommendations, I will get to that later but first if any of you can answer me these things.

  1. Is it safe to consider a free list or is there a danger for malware?

  2. How hard is it to create and to maintain a list of your own and is there a need like any hardware for this?

  3. There are way too many providers; is there a way to know which is best by region?

  4. The local channels have streaming and I can get them by antenna; is there a way to search for the needed info to get them as part of my list?

  5. Why are there providers? Is it because they go thru the trouble;e of building the lists or is there actual work going on?

Sorry for all the trouble guys, I am genuinely curious. Like most new guys here I also have a smart tv so I have smart IPTV and want to get the most out of it. And like most new guys I can imagine that things will get crazy once online and the info is either lacking or outright shady looking.

1: places to find good free m3u lists (other than pasebin) have a ton of popups. You can also rip a m3u from a kodi addon if you know how.

2: its quite a lot of work to maintain a free playlist because you have to check that things work everyday or when you use it. (if you find good m3u links it is not as bad)

3: Get free trials and see what works for you, read customer reviews.

4: More than likely you can get better local channel selection with a good hd antena, iptv does not have many local channels.

5: Providers is a loose term. There are people who have a ton of satalite dishes in their yard or somewhere and they capture the signal, then there are the guys who have all the software running and sending the feeds to others.
