There was a google doc some time ago about different providers. Don't know if it is updated anymore. Someone has the link for sure.
Agreed. I really want to try ntv before buying.
I always recommend PM a reseller prior to purchasing, and find out if they are willing to process a refund in the first day or so if the service does not work out well for your needs. Almost all good resellers will do this. It's also a good way to test communication and customer service before diving right into it.
The problem with free trials is, you usually don't get any of the good resellers posting, rather you only get the ones that are spamming and overselling services.
Most legit resellers don't actually "advertise" their services anyways, so by asking for a free trial you're going to miss out on some of the most reliable services out there.
Keep in mind, activating any mac addresses in a reseller portal actually cost money out of their own pockets. From time to time I'll even give up my personal account so people can try the service. Of course I can't watch TV at this time, but I don't mind helping people out.
There are too many people that take advantage of the trials, and don't forget resellers get huge amounts of PMs when they do respond to people on here. It's basically IMPOSSIBLE to activate a mac address for every PM that comes though.
Resellers get flooded with hundreds of messages of people asking how to use it on every box under the sun, 90% which aren't even supported.
Do some research guys, make it easy on your reseller and he will do what he can to make it easy for you!
Why is free trials that useful? For cheapskates maybe. Free trial really doesn't not equate to a good service, particularly in the long run.
In addition to my previous post...
BEWARE FREE TRIALS...
A bad reseller can activate your mac address and leave it activated in an expired state permanently. That means, after your trial is over, you can't even go and take the service anywhere else.
You basically give up ownership of your device.
The safe workaround to this is to use an emulator or something that allows you to change the mac address should you have an issue with a scammer.
But PLEASE, PLEASE don't sign up your IPTV boxes/mags etc up on trials. Not unless you end up wanting to buy a replacement box!!
This is becoming a VERY big issue lately! People offer you a trial and then when you stop paying them they keep your box locked! I get 2 or 3 people approaching me daily with this happening, even with some of the BIGGER providers!
