I am looking for advice on what box I should consider purchasing to start using an IPTV provider. My biggest requirement is that I need to convince my SO that this is a viable alternative to cable. Some sort of program guide is a must. I don't need 4K but I want a box that will be somewhat future proofed. Android box with Kodi? Mag box? Others?
no such thing as future proofing as these guys tend to stay behind. Get a mag if you want 100% trouble free, get an android box if you want to play around. You can always get a box that supports x265, but as far as I know not a single provider uses it. A mag 254 is more than enough, and at less than 100 bucks, who cares if in 3 years you need to replace it.
