Choosing an IPTV receiver and server

by laithy2000

Hello,

I just upgraded my internet from 8 Mbps to 50 Mbps and I realized that I want to switch from my pay TV provider to IPTV. I first started searching up a few servers and found that SoftIPTV looks promising, if you have any feedback or suggestions please tell me. I would like to have American channels mainly and the middle eastern pay TV channels like OSN. I then started looking for a set top box and got really confused. I am looking for a set top box that has the best IPTV interface possible with DVR capabilities, and ideally program booking. I am also looking for a box that also connects to satellite with card sharing capabilities. WiFi is not a concern for me because I want to have a wired connection to the box. I would really appreciate any and all suggestions. Thank you!

Unfortunately you won't find what you're looking for in one box. Getting the stations you want is no problem.

No iptv boxes support pvr abilities yet. Although through stalker middleware time shifting is easily accessible. (mag254, dreamlink t1, avov tvonline)

IKS or key sharing is available in certain boxes only. Consider the dreamlink t5. This will require you to install and aim a satellite dish on your roof, but I assume you already have this installed. If you use dishnet, expect an ecm weekly taking your stations down. If you go with bell expressvu, you should stay online with Canadian content with minimal downtime. Also note that with iks local channels will NOT be available to you.

That's my quick summary for you :)

at the moment I find Tvluux the best iptv server that I've ever known so I recommend this service provider. They also got many positive reviews from their customers.
