Noob question.. What exactly is time shifting? And how do I use it?

Time-shifting is a feature offered by a carrier or provider and is activated on specific channels they choose. Basically, as live TV is being pushed through their servers, they caputre local recordings for a specified timeframe. Ipguys, for instance, records approximately the last 4 hours of TV.

Using a supported box, if you tune into a channel that has that feature, you can actually go backwards in the EPG to watch shows that aired 4 hours ago. It's sorta like a dialed down version of a PVR.

For instance, lets say a tv show airs at 7pm in new york. That would be 4pm on the west coast, and many people are still at work at this time and would normally miss that show. With timeshifting, people on the west coast could now have up until 8:30pm or so their local time to re-watch it, without the need of a recording device!

This is a built in feature of the Stalker software, so it's designed to work out of the box with a mag. This is not available for Kodi users. I haven't tried emulators but hopefully someone else can fill me in on this.

Like on demand pretty much. My cable provider has 8 days on all channels. Very handy
