Boxing Day KickStarter Special $55 IPTV Android box - Made in Canada

Looks like a normal android box, nothing special here. The base model comes with 1GB of ram, with the more expensive model coming in with 2GB.

From the video, it looks like it doesn't even come with a remote? I sure hope the production models come with a remote. Using a smartphone for every function is an absolute failure on all counts.

As for IPTV itself, it appears just to use STB Emulator.

I'm all for Canadian products, but this doesn't do anything hundreds of boxes don't do already.

In reality, if it's IPTV you want with android, you're still better off with a device that hasn't use an emulator app to get it...

Edit : I do like the idea it comes with the play store out of the box. This gives you more software options. BUTTTT...the Avov TVOnline4 already can sideload apps the unit is already rooted for tech nerds that want to do lots of stuff with it. If the developers of this can release their software pre-rooted, THEN we might have something unique on our hands.

I might get one of these just to add to the list of devices I hope to review shortly :)

EDIT EDIT: It also appears by the specs it doesn't support 4k playback. So the Dreamlink T1 and the Avov TVOnline4 all have this beat already. I do like the small form factor of this unit though.

THis is a super tough market to exceed in right now, and I don't see how this can work out. But I still hope this does well! Good luck OP!

HDMI 1.4 support with HDCP 1.2, no HDR no Dolby Vision. You're better off getting a S905X based system from China if you're cheap or the Mi Box from the USA.

You guys are all awesome. I'll try to include a remote. I was thinking about it, but I thought the costs might be way too high relative to the device itself. Thinking I could just use some 8051 chips and IR transmitters with some old school one sided circuitboard, I may be able to pull it off. I'll think about it today while I'm driving to the place thats making the cases for molding. Also. it is capable of H.265 4K output

Keep it coming guys, this is exactly what I was hoping for :)

Overall, what is the main difference than say these Android boxes, and just running Kodi on your desktop. Is it all purely software? I know that there are different softwares and emulators. But what could THIS do that a normal set up with Kodi and the right add-ons can't do? I have heard that Kodi isn't REAL IPTV before, but what does that mean? Kodi doesn't have the proper add-ons? Neither is going to give you free IPTV, so why buy this over just using a desktop with Kodi, and purchasing an IPTV package? As well do these boxes only work with specific IPTV providers?
