So it's taking me a couple months to feel comfortable paying someone "$12" to get a service which is just a stream of live stations. Not knowing the reliability and having to just jump right in.
First thing. I wasn't sure exactly how IPTV worked or hoe to set it up. So I ordered a Mag254 and signed up for my IPTV service. I used IPTVplanet.ca (I GUYS server) I payed with PayPal and they sent me my info and a how to video to set it up in xbmc using stalker client. I got the streams working but could get EPG working. I asked for help and they said it's not possible in Kodi. So I tried some things on my own and got it to work. Not help from customer support. I'm looking forward to my Mag254 box to arrive Friday so I can set it up. Hopefully it's not to complicated
If I could give one piece of advice about iptv to someone who is wondering if it's for them. You probably won't get good tech support so you have to be willing to figure it out yourself.
That's all hope that helped someone
Guys, no provider supports Kodi as it's a form of emulation. That's why the epg causes issues. You also missed out on other great features such as videos on demand (I bet you didn't even know ipguys had that!).
When you get your mag, you'll be blown away how much better IPTV is on a supported device.
I have never used that reseller, but I always make sure to tell people do not expect help setting up Kodi ever. Or stbemu. Any assistance or troubleshooting should be done on here publicly for best visibility.
You can't hate on resellers for not fixing YOUR computer problems.
That's like customers calling their ISPs because they got a virus off the internet. This is NOT their concern.
That said, yes Kodi and epg works great. IF you know what you're doing...
