Best iptv box?

by symbiance09

I am looking to get the most out of an iPTV service. I use Kodi right now on fire TV stick and Best Player on xbox one, but I wanna take advantage of everything that is offered.

I know magbox is popular and so are dreamlink and avov..

I was leaning towards dreamlink because it's android, but wasn't sure if it had any limitations that magbox would be better at. I'd have android apps installed, but don't wanna run myself short.

Is there anything magbox can do that dreamlink box's can't do?

In terms of streamlined experience, the Mag 254 is my choice. It's super fast to boot up, stays on standby so it's always ready, and is certainly the easiest to use. But an Android box with Kodi sure offers way more addons and apps (such as Phoenix and iStream) which can supplement your usual IPTV service. The issue I have with Kodi though is it's a lot slower and more clunky to use. I don't have a dreamlink but I heard it's pretty popular as well.

Avov is Android and stalker best of both plus it's 4k . You can sideload apps onto to it also. Only downside is the company went bust . Box still works fine. Informir are releasing a new 4k capable mag box . If you want I use the stalkertv app on my android TV and Android devices which basically means you don't even need a mag or whatever anymore. Only a few providers support the app.

I started out with a mag and I found the interface to be slow and clunky. I switched to a dreamlink t1 and couldn't be happier, you can also use apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Kodi.

I know this isn't really a standard suggestion for people in this community, but I'll chime in anyway. Best Android TV box by far is the nvidia shield and can easily run STB Emulator if you're a stalker fan, Kodi and along with the tons of other great things (Netflix, crackle, YouTube, you name it) that it gets just right with Android TV. Of course, you didn't state a budget, so don't expect that on the cheap ;). $199 for 16GB Version, for example and more if you want the one with a built in drive. Nexus player is also great if you can get one and much more affordable, but with less power.

There are a bajillion other "Android TV boxes" but quite honestly they suck in my opinion. Even Fire TV, you're getting Amazon stuffed down your throat rather than a vanilla Android TV interface. The official ones just work, run stable, modern versions of Android, you can sideload apps just like any android device and have all the features you'd ever expect from a Mag and more.

But if you're looking for simplicity for Stalker IPTV providers, get a Mag 254. They're relatively inexpensive too.

Has anyone tried the buzztv xpl2000? I use dreamlink now but am looking to buy another box. Dreamlink has to low of an android version and won't run new kodi. Also no full play store and an annoying clicky remote. Their DOL app for iptv is great however.

I use a MiBox. It's Android TV's OS and is therefore supported by Google. It's really not expensive and apps work well.

It doesn't come with an ethernet port, so I bought a USB to Ethernet adapter for 7$ on Amazon.
