Live Stream Cache RPI3

by shroudsofclouds

Hi guys,

I'm having problems with most of my live streams regardless of addons on Kodi 17 & Raspberry Pi 3.

When I first open the stream it is buffering for the first 60 seconds or so in an attempt to fill the player cache and continually drops to zero. After this time it will hit 100% and run fine for hours on end.

This is happening not only with free addons but also a good quality paid sub I am using. The RPI is hard wired and I am getting a downspeed of over 70Mbits so this isn't the problem. I have also tested these streams on other devices and am not getting the same problem. Player cache fills to 100% immediately...

Any ideas??

Cheers

Switch to an Android device with SPMC loaded or Perfect Player.

Try using libreelec. I use that with Wi-Fi on a rpi3 without issue

yeah there are a lot of issues with rpi and iptv including kodi paid addons.

Even if you get it to work with lib, you may experience issues such as epg and stuff. Additionally, if you're using kodi you're probably missing out on other features such as timeshifting, pvr and epg functionality.

Consider checking out what you're missing out on with the videos here: (notably, the Dreamlink T1)

For the price of the pi and the headache you will probably end up with, you're best just to spend the extra 20 bucks and do it right the first time!

Even if you get the pi to work great, you're sorta ripping yourself off of all the features some of these providers are offering. If you're paying for TV, why half-ass it and not have access to it all?
