[Request] Some kind of flowchart for picking a service provider

by chacata_panecos

There are so many providers with many different pros and cons depending on where you are and what you want. Isn't there some kind of flowchart that narrows down some options?

I know about this , but stokedcrf says it's not reliable and it doesn't exactly help you narrow it down that much.

I am in the US

My wishlist:

Reliability

US channels

Canadian channels

Indian channels

NBA League Pass

Lots of VOD

That chart can be used as a guideline I guess, but it won't tell you specifics. Channels can change at any time, bitrates can change from channel to channel as well. That chart wont touch on buffering, load issues, ping/server details. Sooo many things that can't really be covered in a flow chart.

Potentially someone could come up with some sort of voting system, but there are so many resellers posting here that often there are more resellers than actual customers on reddit. I'd assume lots of people read these, and just don't respond.

Additionally there are new services posted almost daily now from resellers who we've never heard of.

The only way to know what's good is to try a few different options. There's no way to know what server works best for you without trying first.

THAT SAID , there are things you can do to enhance your iptv experience. First off, decide what method of IPTV you want. Do you need it to be mobile? On a laptop? Web-based? Or do you want a cable-company like experience for the whole family, stationed at one location? Is it you using it, or does it have to be wife friendly?

All these things can be addressed, and if done properly, can make for a really great IPTV viewing experience.

I can't tell you what is best, I wish I could. I don't even know if I've found the best yet. But I won't stop until I do :D

Additionally, if you REALLY want the best, consider going the HTPC route (which is my primary source of TV). With free software like sonarr, couchpotato, headphones, jackett etc, you can get any tv show, any network, any quality (think, 1080p!!) instantly, even when your not home. (Think, custom PVR). Of course you need the storage to do it, but it makes for a DAMN good setup.

Then you can throw home automation into the mix (right now, when a movie starts in kodi my lights dim automatically, movie ends the lights come back on). Not to mention kodi picture in picture when the doorbell rings. SOOO much stuff you can do so easily. It doesn't hurt to step outside the world of just IPTV streaming :)

I know I got off topic on this, but it's a hot topic I'm super enthusiastic about :D
