I have tried both SmoothStreams and SportsAccess. While they both offer MLB Network, the channel is frequently hijacked during prime time to show live games from other sports (NBA mostly it seems). They both must source the channel from the same place as the feeds are identical in this respect.
I appreciate the focus of these networks is covering every game but are there other providers out there that will provide reliable 24/7 MLB Network? I don't want to rely on simple channel lists as obviously that hasn't served me well in the two providers I have tried.
Wanting 24/7 MLB network was one of the biggest reasons i made the jump to paid IPTV, since as a big baseball fan 95% of my "live tv time" consists of having either that and ESPN playing in the back round. Finding a reliable free feed that didn't turn into a buffering mess (key factor that gets left out of a lot of "i just flipped over for 15 seconds and it was working great!" recommendations btw, both paid and free) after a few minutes was pretty much impossible.
In the few different paid services I've tried so far it definitely seems to rank among the most finicky channels. I do find it working the most (a lot more often then not, where as the others were kinda a touch better then 50/50) on IPGuys though if that helps.
Sucks hearing that about Smoothstreams though. That was next up on my try list :(
