IPGuys... lots of buffering in the evening

by IsrarK

Is it on my end?

My connection is decent, 10 Mbps down. I have no issues with the service when I get off in the morning. Buffering is minimal to none.

But in the evening, like right now? It's unwatchable.

Using IPGuys via STBEmu

First off, 10mbps is far from decent if you're using iptv. If anyone in the house touches a wireless device or YouTube etc you could see issues.

Additionally, you're using an emulator and many people even on high powered devices such as the nvidia shield have issues with jittery video playback.

Now you do mention this happens at night time, but it's not uncommon for isp lines to get congested at night as well... Or even more wifi connections around causing interface.

There are so many variables, but it's unlikely you'll be able to pinpoint this on ipguys.

For what it's work, my ipguys has been working great for like a year (I have 1000mbps download) running a dreamlink t1

I have a T1 with a hard wired 75/75 connection and have hardly ever seen IPGuys buffer at all aside from maybe a brief hiccup less than a handful of times. I'd guess it has something to do with the STBEmu. Are you running off of wifi or is your box hard wired to your router?

IPGuys was definitely having it's own issues for me last night beyond the STBemu after around 10pm est. Was in an out the rest of the late night actually.

Happens here and there for me, but never as bad as that. Have had it on watching Smackdown through the STBemu the last 2 hours without a hiccup though.

I run IPGuys through the Stalker client in Kodi on a cheap Android box and I've seen it buffer maybe 3 or 4 times ever. That said, my internet service is as fast as wireless can handle.

IPGUYS did have some issues over the last few days. But the fact that you are running on wifi, and only have a 10mb connection, I agree with Stokedcrf. If you're not the only one using the bandwidth, than everything is going to go to crap fast. I myself bought one of the wifi mag254 boxes, and it buffered like a madman on my 100mbit fibre. I had to run a hardline to the box as the wifi performance was complete, utter shit.

And if you're doing it on a STB emu, is your box a cheap Chinese box that has no real antenae? All they have is a wire soldered to the wifi chip then taped to the roof of the box, that's it. Kodiloaded made a guide on how to solder a proper one on, it's in the freaktab forums.
