Having issue with Shield TV and IPTV (FabIPTV) Live streams

I recently got a subscription to FABIPTV and the service seems really good when watching the regular entertainingment and movie channels. But the main reason I got it was for NBA, NHL & MLB games which they carry as well. I keep having an issue that when I'm watching any of the Live sports streams I will go through each game using either (Perfect Player) or the Flawless Add-on in Kodi to view them. At first I can view each game and when I finally start to watch one for around 5 minutes the screen will start to buffer and it start back at the place where I first started to watch the game. If I go to change the channel to a different Live game (Either NBA or NHL) no picture will come up and I'll get no available stream. I'll check all the other games that were all working a few minutes prior and none of them work now. This is the third time this has happened. I will go and check out all the other entertainment (NBC, HBO, BRAVO, etc) channels and they all will work fine but the LIVE sports streams just won't come up anymore. I'll log off and come back maybe an hour later and sometimes they are working again, but the same issue keeps happening. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Could if be my Shield TV that is the problem? Does the live streams of the sports need to be decoded differently than the entertainment channels and maybe my Shield is the issue? I sent in a ticket to FABIPTV when this first happened and they said they were all working fine. I can't seem to figure it out. Just hoping someone might have an answer or lead me in the right direction on a fix.

Can't help you with Shield TV but I can confirm that I've been watching the live NHL channels nightly for a few weeks and haven't had any issues. I'm using the Kodi plugin but I am on a Windows PC.

Hi there. To start with if I were you would be to test the service out on there webplayer with a wired connection on your pc/laptop/Mac. You'll then find if it's your isp throttling you, and issue with shield, or an issue with Fab. At a guess, it's gonna be the shield.

Personally I've been using the service a while now on a wired Dreamlink and it's been flawless (no pun intended). Good luck in figuring it out

I also can't comment on this provider as I haven't used them myself.

But I can confirm, and have confirmed in MANY posts that the shield should not be used for iptv where reliability and consistency is required.

Some people have gone as far as returning them in favor for a dedicated box at a 1/3 of the price that will give you a much better viewing experience.

At this point, the shield should only be used for gaming and gsnestreaming from a compatible nvidia Gtx video card. This is the only reason to own one over the many other (and potentially better) boxes out there. Of course, with the shield you do get the added benefit of the control and stuff if you like Android games as well.

I'd say try the service from another device, and go from there.

My guess is its the shield though.
