Best method to access IPTVsubs?

by CrankyOptimist

I'm thinking of subscribing to IPTVsubs, but before I do I wanted to get some thoughts on which method of using IPTVsubs is most recommended. My understanding is that I can either use an STB emulator, an android app, or a Kodi app. I have an android box with Kodi installed so my understanding is that I should be able to use any of these three methods. If any IPTVsubs users are able to answer any of the following questions, I'd be most appreciative!

  1. Are any of the three methods more responsive / less lag than the others?
  2. Are any of them different in terms of their EPG?
  3. Can I try all three methods on the same device to see which one works best for me or would that cause technical issues?
  4. Do you recommend a specific STB emulator app?

Thanks very much in advance!

Kodi likely will cause issues with epg. (on some operating systems not all)

Emulators will get you timeshifting and videos on demand. This is the only method to get that functionality on a non supported box. The downside is emulators are very slow, can be buggy, and even on the powerful nvidia shield sometimes it has jittery video playback. That said many have it working on cheap 50 dollar boxes, so your mileage may vary.

If you're using this as a cable company replacement where reliability is required or if needed to be wife friendly, then I'd suggest getting a proper box as reviewed in the sticky over at /r/iptvgta

If you just want the odd channel with light use, I'd go for thr emulator and save the 80 bucks.

But the video reviews are definately worth a watch.

An real STB Box would be great. However, if you have already something at home that can run android apps you can do STB emulator for now until you buy a box.

Just my opinion here - but I'd try another provider unless you have a real good reason for going with IPTVSubs specifically. Have a look at r/iptvreviews. iprocket.net has a couple of great offerings. Pioneer (which is Vader) has great Kodi integration and Apollo is very reliable.

I had subs for almost a year and finally had to give up (although this was all Kodi, maybe emulators are better). The support is spotty, many channels have recurring issues (although to be fair most channels usually work fine), they provide a channel list with program info in their add-on and call this an EPG, refusing to acknowledge that most people want a real guide, they refuse to do anything to help users who create real working EPGs, and even in situations where large swaths of users experience buffering issues, they rarely acknowledge that anything is wrong and never do anything to remedy it. They also list a huge chunk of UK channels in their channel list, but these only worked for about 2 weeks in the many months I had the service.

Really though I left because of how unreliable it was. Worked great for a while, then totally unwatchable. Then great again, then totally unwatchable.

I've had better luck with other options, but it's been a couple of months, so maybe they've gotten better. So, to answer your question, I would try any method besides Kodi if it offers a real EPG.

Anyone else having issues with IPTV Subs blocking VPNs? This suddenly started happening a few days ago. If vpn is off no problems but defeats the purpose of privacy.
