Cloud PVR with IPTV?

by jawgee

While I'm not new to cordcutting (cut the cable/satellite cords 8 years ago!), IPTV still seems like the wild west to me. Are there any IPTV providers that offer a PVR-on-the-cloud service rather than downloading to your device?

USTVNow offers a service like this, but their free channel selection is tiny. I used to subscribe to Aereo which offered PVR service in the cloud, but they got sued out of the business. I like how MLB.TV provides their games, an automatic archiving of all their games (I'm not expecting an underground IPTV service to provide this).

The advantage of this would be to save on (client) bandwidth as I notice many IPTV providers don't allow more than 1 stream at a time. Anything out there like this?

All stalker based servers support whay your looking for and will cost about 10usd or 15cad a month.

You will need a proper set top box though that supports it and can cost from 70 to 120 depending on the box.

I try to do video reviews of them all for your comparison over in the sticky at /r/iptvgta

Avoid kodi at all costs. Just search kodi in this subreddit to understand why.

IPTV providers do offer catch-up/timeshift for a certain amount of days back. Add in a popular Kodi addon like exodus then you may no longer need a DVR
