Mine works by just going backwards in the EPG. However, I believe your provider needs to also support it.

Now I can do that, but it just plays that specific show, and doesn't continuously play from that time, any way to make it constant?

What service are you subscribed to? The issue may be with the server.  When I use my T1 while in the EPG I hit the yellow 'Single EPG' button.  It let's you easily scroll through the recorded shows by each day and simply select what you want to watch.

Hit EPG .. select timeshift enabled Channel and hit left and go back to a show you want to watch
