Service stalling on Mag 254

by zaptor99

Once in a while, a service goes down or stalls, and you don't realize that till you flip channels away from the one I'm watching and nothing works.
So, normally, I would go to Setting in the outer portal to restart the portal, but then the settings in the outer portal is just a white screen. Clicking on the "setup" button on the remote does not take you to the portal selection page, so there is no other way to restart the portal without unplugging the mag.
This happens with ipguys, express, crown, etc. Maybe one or twice a month. I watch TV a lot, so I probably notice it more.
Is there any other way to restart the portal when that happens? (i.e. when the outer portal hangs).

I noticed it would do it more often when I wouldn't reboot to portal selection screen. If I stayed logged into server and powered the device off it was just luck when I came back. Not sure if it is a memory issue or not after the last update. Since I have a few servers on my mag, I end rebooting/logging out or whatever to portal selection when done watching. Then I select the server when I am back. Unfortunately, Same boat as you for a solution though, power cycle the box is only fix. I think I've pressed every button on the remote during it.

I just had another scenario where I wanted to exit the portal and I can't: My subscription ended, so this morning I got the message your stb is blocked.
I just can't exit that screen to go back to the inner portal or the portal selection screen.
There has to be a way to do that.
