IPTV Express Theory: Put on your tin foil hats for this one.

by fatlard
  • Do IPTV providers usually have server and stability issues like IPTV Express did before allegedly getting bust by local enforcement?

  • Do IPTV providers transfer customers to another provider after getting busted?

MY THEORY: IPTV Express wanted to liquidate and get out of the game. It was too hard too much work and made enough money or some other factor.. did not want to rebuild a server. It is a cash out and run job by the owners of IPTV Express. The getting busted by the police is just nice cover.

I just hope we get some real answers. I really enjoyed express but finding a replacement is going to suck.

It's a plausible theory. It's an unregulated industry and shady stuff is bound to happen. What I can't determine is how much money these groups pull in. I think it's very significant. If someone has 1,000 monthly subscribers at $10 mo it's $10,000 per month!! I have no idea what the costs for the servers and connectivity is but that's a lot of cabbage!

I might be out of the loop but did this actually happen? Is that why service is down right now?

Was Express another one of those "buy 6 or 12 months and save!" providers? If so this is a pretty strong reminder yet again that you shouldn't be out there buying long term IPTV subscriptions.

Trying to save that extra $1-2 a month on a $10-15 bill just isn't worth it.
