I creep this subreddit quite often and i noticed on here as well as on facebook that providers post info on their service as well as resellers posting info of the service they are reselling.
One thing that im curious to know is. What are the benefits of choosing a reseller over providers themselves?
Providers can offer direct support, add or change channel feeds. What is the benefits of going through resellers?
Most providers ONLY sell through resellers.
Even some of the providers you see posting here, even under the providers name, are most time just resellers or super resellers.
There is maybe one or two exceptions, but in most case providers will not sell directly to the public.
The reason for this is to protect the privacy of their streams. The providers that have been around the longest and are most reliable generally have no website, no contact info, and offer no support.
As I said though there are some exceptions.
Another reason why resellers CAN be good, is because it gives you someone to deal with, sometimes even in person locally. I've had the opportunity to meet with quite a few people on here and it's a really great community.
Also, resellers can offer more than one service. If one service goes down, they can get you on another. They also can answer your questions and offer suggestions. Every customer has different needs, some want internationals etc. For example, a reseller may offer an indian customer one server, and a Canadian or american guy Epic. Or in my case, if the customer is older, less tech savvy, or if they dont have a legit sub as a backup I always recommend ipguys because they are ROCK solid and stay up for months or years at a time without issue.
Dealing with a provider doesn't even necessarily get you the best pricing either.
Additionally, resellers often come together with providers to offer bundles or deals that an individual wouldn't be able to get on their own.
