MAG256 issues

Question

Hey all,

Purchased a MAG256 the other day and I've been having a couple of issues with it.

Firstly I have the box set to go to deep sleep and no auto shutdown, but after a few hours the box goes into active sleep mode. Not too big of a deal but it's annoying.

Secondly sometimes the box randomly freezes all video. I'll switch channels but the video that was frozen stays on the screen and there's no audio. I'll even switch portals and once I play a video I still see the frozen video. I have to reboot to fix it. Happens once every day or two.

Anyone else getting this? I've updated and reset all settings on my box. I've even changed NAND2 to NAND, not sure how the bootloader affects it but yeah.

not familiar with this... but did you try to factory restore it? Where did you purchase it...? sometimes sellers will get refunds and then repackage and sell.

I rolled mine back to 0.2.20-a7.7. It seems to work better

Quick question how is your experience so far with the 256? Is it better than the 254?

Never had a 254, opting to go straight to a 256 so cant compare the 2. There are some issues that I think are down to the box. I get stutter on some iptv channels from the 3 services I have set up, all claiming to support the 256. These same channels play ok on kodi. I also notice that if a portal is down while trying to load it that you sometimes have to power cycle the box.
