Trying to sort out Italian IPTV and couple providers trying to charge per box. I'm not sure if this is how it's done. On my smoothstreams account I can have multiple boxes at the same price.

Smoothstreams is an outlier in IPTV services. Don't expect multiple boxes one the same IPTV account running at the same time unless you go multiconnection and even that you will only be able to use it on one IP address.
I wish more providers would start offering this, I would def buy a couple more accounts on the same provider for my extra TV's.
Yes, that is how its done. If you have a dedicated box, like a MAG, providers charge you for each MAC address you want to register with them. Some offer multi-room packages where you get a small discount, but its one box per subscription with most services.
If you are running on kodi or through another android app, you can use the same link on multiple devices but never at the same time unless you have a multi-room sub or a second full subscription.
