TVirl, Live Channels and IPTV/EPG setup.

by Archmagination2002

I have been experimenting with getting a nice, simple way of using IPTV for a tech illiterate. I have experimented and found that my favorite build is actually using TVirl with Live Channels. I love how it works, it is instinctive and easy to use and has all the features I am looking for but I am running into a problem.

My problem is the EPG, the IPTV I have used don't seem to be compatible with TVirl and fail to load. I am also worried about setting the EPG timeshift correctly, trying other methods(kodi too complicated for a tech illiterate, app clunky, etc) the EPG was off. I am central standard time and most of the IPTV stuff is off by about an hour Any suggestions on an IPTV provider that has good uptime and works with TVirl?

What iptv services have you tried?

I can't get EPG to work either. Have you reached out to the dev? TVirl is a prerelease app specifically so the dev can get feedback.

So far I have used FabIPTV and Rocketstreams IPTV. Both will always fail at the EPG download and when I contacted FabIPTV support about the EPG problem they said TVirl is unsupported. I think they are just using a custom coded EPG guide for some reason and it makes it fail at that point. I did try testing IPTV-EPG, TVirl loads it with no problem but it won't actually display the guide data for the channels I have selected.

I tried their android apps but I find them very barebones and clunky. iVue with their kodi add-ons was a very good experience but I prefer just a one click android app that works like Live Channels if possible.

Reach out to the dev. He's very receptive to feedback and quick to act. Have you tried another EPG provider? I use rapid playlist in TVirl, but mapped to the EPG from iptv-epg. Works beautifully now they've fixed the UTC issues on the epg service.
