I'm a bit of a newbie at all of this i have just set up ace tv on my mag box 256, and is running fine but i wondered if there are tv series and movie portals that i can run as i like to keep up with the latest episodes of shows. any help will be much appreciated. (if it's free then that's a bonus!)
Sounds like you want access to a Plex server. Or if your providers VOD isn't good enough ask around for a better overall service.
I believe Ace has a decent selection of VOD. As /u/Blue-Thunder said, a MAG isn't designed to utilize any other software like kodi, so you will only have access to whatever your IPTV provider gives you access to.
That said, if you aren't happy with the VOD selection with Ace, there are dozens of services, try some different ones and see if they have what you are looking for.
Well to be honest I'm happy with the 2 days of service thus far (literally just got started with it all) but the VOD leaves alot to be desired in terms of tv shows, i was wondering if theres something that has tv series as and when they come out.
What are you talking about exactly? Your provider should have a VOD section, might be called video club, that is where you will find your latest shows, movies, etc. You don't need to add shit to your box. This isn't an android box, or a kodi box, this is an environment where your provider provides everything for you.
