Can you install something like IPVanish in a MAG box?
You could get any sort of box and not run into Kodi. You'll be the one installing stuff on it. Mag boxes seem like an expensive one-trick pony to me. Plus, you may decide you want more functionality in future. That doesn't have to mean Kodi.
If you want to turn on the box and get live tv you can get a box and put Perfect Player on it or something like that and have it set to boot with the system. Any Android Tv box will run that.
Exactly. MAG 254 or 256 is what you are looking for.
MAG254/MAG256 are the most reliable (in my experience). You can also use STB Emulator on Android devices.
The only thing to note, the older Mags run quite slow and take ages to boot up - make sure you get the newer model
I have mag254 & dream link t1+ both are nice boxes t1 runs Ip vanish app on it works perfect.

Get a Mag254 or Mag 256 and find a reliable iptv service provider that you think appropriate for your needs and budget. At the moment I am using 12 month subscription package of tvluux 12 month subscription . It's working great and I am just enjoying it so much.
You need Magbox then that is specially made for IPTV
