Dreamlink T1 PVR

So this must really tick off anyone who bought the T1+...the T1 has all the same recording capabilities as the Plus since the firmware update on Friday. I can pause live TV...although unpausing makes it go back 10 mins with no ability to fast forward, but that is apparently the case on the Plus aswell. I can record a program to a USB just like the Plus. Neither box can schedule a future recording at this time but presumably once that is possible it will be a function of DOL2 and, therefore, available on the T1 aswell as the Plus.

Even a Dreamlink contact I follow on another forum has said that the T1 performs almost identically to the T1+ after the update.

If I had bought a Plus, I'd be livid!

The plus model was originally showcased to include this feature as a standalone extra. I would bet my bottom dollar that when it came down to updating the original the team either felt responsible that they received enough flak for not delivering on there promises, or simply put they got lazy and just coded the original the same becauae it was already done for the T1. Either way the T1 plus is still technically a faster device as per the specs and will likely receive further updates where this might be the last update the original receives

The only thing that may set them apart in the future may be the ability to schedule recordings

I sold my T1 due to the undelivered promises. And now I see it can record - lol. You are right, it is pretty infuriating. A bit of honesty goes a long way. Not saying I'm not glad they did it, but if they would've mentioned it, lots of folks would've stayed on the regular T1. They "flip flop" development plans so much, and don't keep their customers updated with their intentions.

The flip flopping has really "maximized" their profits because many users bought the plus for recording/PlayStore . First saying that PVR will NEVER be added to the T1 (and PlayStore would be added) and to buy the plus if you want said feature. So once everyone who can afford to pay, has bought one... They change the development plan again and release an update that makes them nearly identical minus the PlayStore lmao.

I feel bad for the folks that bought both but didn't sell the older T1, thinking they were getting an upgrade.. Only to learn a few months later that they didn't need to spend over a hundred more dollars..

The regular T1 is a better box for recording high bitrate streams because of the USB3 port. Why they dropped USB3 for USB2 is very odd... Especially seeing as the plus was supposed to be the "PVR" box while the regular T1 was not supposed to be a PVR...
