Hey guys, so I'm using express and have been using their app on a droid box without problems since they released it. I have switched over to a T1 and now on a lot of channels, I no longer get audio. I have tried setting the audio output in the android settings to Raw and auto and it still doesn't work. The T1 is hooked up to the TV via HDMI for both video and audio. Any ideas what is happening? TIA :)
For anyone else I believe I have found the reason why. The T1 is not capable of decoding DD signals via the HDMI, but only the optical out with a toslink cable. The official dreamlink page states:
Audio Decoding MPEG L1/L2 AAC-LC and HE AAC V1/V2 decoding G.711 (u/a) audio decoding
Dolby : Optical AC3 Supported

Ps- have you tried using optical yet?
I think its a software issue and nothing T1 can't fix. Before this firmware upgrade, all express DD channels worked fine on my T1 box. To validate my theory, I tried playing DD 5.1 videos from an external drive and they had no sound on T1 media center but then I used FTMC (kodi) on T1 and it played like a charm with proper DD5.1 sound.
I also noticed the same with 5.1 channels on vader today would love to find a fix for this
Yeh ive got the soundbar direct to the tv rather than the box you think that is the fix?
Ive just plugged optical straight into the dreamlink no luck so far
Yeh tried both raw and the L one, played the non dolby channels fine still so the soundbar was definitely working
I have done a liitle test. Using the android app, I was able to find which format the channels that are and are not working on the T1 and I have found that channels using the AAC 2.0 format play fine on the T1, while channels with Dolby Digital 5.1 do not play.....
