IPTV w/voice search and record, pause, rewind-ff feature?

by SpanishSurfer

I've had a 2017 SHIELD w/500GB for about a whole 5 days, putting me in the noob category for IPTV. I've been experimenting with different channel providers and just tried FAB TV w/Kodi (which has excellent customer service and a large amount of channels). Unfortunately they can't record, voice search, pause, rewind or fast forward while watching live content. This is a big deal because I'm in the process of selling IPTV to the wife and I need this to be a seamless switch from cable.

Does anyone know a setup that will work to accomplish what I'm looking for? Thanks in advance.

* EDIT I have PLEX w/the pass if that helps.

There is no way to "voice search", "rewind" or "fast forward" any live content on IPTV. You are asking for too much. You can't ever fast forward a live content.

Recording is possible via Dreamlink T1 Plus.

Voice search is too much hassles and not worth it.

You are asking for too much for a service that costs less than $10/month.

Use DVR on your plex using the pass for OTA channels using an antenna, that's what I do and that's the best option.

You need the software that supports voice commands, not the IPTV service.

Sorry, but unfortunately I don't think iptv is for you.

Iptv has been known to end marriages.

The setup you have right now is probably the best you're going to get without additional hardware running additional software (tvh). Even then, you'll never get any voice support without additional services like Amazon echo integrated into a home automation system.

Ive done it, it can for sure be done. But the investment is very high (rti controllers can control your shield) but an rti remote can cost upwards 1500.

Recording is simple though with tvh if you have a Linux box.

It's probably easier to get a dreamlink t1 if you need recording (see video reviews at /r/iptvgta in the sticky section) as it's favored by many. That said, it's not perfect. What it does it does Damn good. But some feel it's lacking in the pvr scheduling department.
