Fire TV vs Android Boxes?

by CitizenCake01

So I'm looking into getting IPTV (previously I've been using a card-sharing box) and there's a lot I'm confused about.

I currently have a Amazon Fire TV Box with KODI already installed onto it, but was wondering if there are any added advantages of using an Android box (such as those made by Dreamlink, Avov and Mag etc) instead?

Are Android boxes better for IPTV (I plan on purchasing a IPTV subscription service and using something like iVue for an EPG), or should I just stick with my Amazon Fire TV box? I absolutely don't mind spending additional money purchasing an Android box if they offer a better viewing/IPTV experience.

Thanks for the help :)

As far as I've seen it's more ease of use. If you know how to use kodi and run it yourself and at least minimally tech saavi then stick with the fire. If you're setting it up for someone whos a tech-dummy and needs a point and click interface then a box is the way to go.

I wouldn't consider any that you listed to be true android boxes. While the Dreamlink and Avov both run android and allow installation of apps, they are IPTV boxes primarily. The MAG runs a Linux operating system so it's completely different.

That all said, your Fire TV box should work just fine with the services you mentioned. Both have nice kodi builds and work well with something like Perfect Player.

If you don't have Amazon prime I'd normally just recommend getting a good $50 2gb 4k android box from ebay or Amazon. It's more straight forward and without all the clutter.

I have both, you can stick with the Amazon fire box without any issues. I normally run Ip-tv through Kodi using the Simple PVR client or through perfect player. IMO the only benefit of the Dreamlink, Avov, Mag boxes is the easier EPG access....but that's all I see.
