I have an Avov box which I purchased from guy 1. His service has been good. But I found same service with guy 2 for less. Guy 2 says my mac address is locked somehow with guy 1, and I need guy 1 to remove it from somewhere. Guy 1 won't do this since he would lose me as customer. Is there a way for me to get a new mac address or reset it something? Cheers.
You could also ask Guy 1 to meet Guy 2's price since he's being petty over losing a customer. You never agreed to be a customer for life and if he needs your business that bad, the least he could do is give you a break on the price
I've seen the a reseller not release a mac for my client. But after 2 months I was able to add his mac. it seems like the system automatically released the Mac. So you could wait It out
Call the company. They should be able to unlock your device from the first reseller.
If they don't or won't, then I personally wouldn't do any business with them.

I don't have personal experience with the box you're using... So there's no guarantee it would work, but you could try installing one of many Android apps that allow you to spoof your MAC address, but depending on how your box passes on the MAC address, it may be of no use. Some boxes have it right built into the middleware to allow you to modify it. If that doesn't work, you'd likely have to switch to a different provider who isn't a reseller of the same service. Or you could install perfect player or another streaming app that doesn't require a specific MAC address. Good luck, some people just suck.
