I recently purchased two mag 256 w2 from different sellers. They both exhibit the same problem. I've setup WiFi on both devices. When the box comes out of standby mode it takes quite a long time for it to reconnect to WiFi and as a result the box cannot be used. The same issue happens with ethernet cable. The box takes a while and then it's fine. I setup both boxes to auto DHCP and didn't assign static IPs. I'm wondering whether it's something to do with the lease expiring and the box taking a while to get renewed lease.
Really struggling to figure out the issue. Both boxes are on the latest firmware (30th June 2017).
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm not sure exactly the issue at hand, but if you do suspect a dhcp lease issue that is certainly an easy enough to change. It can't hurt to make them static and see.
I don't have a mag 256 so I can't really do a test on my end, perhaps someone with a stopwatch and a mag can post their estimated times to see.
The next step though would in my mind be to try a different server and do side by side comparisons. Does changing iptv providers make the time faster or slower? If the times are exactly the same, that means it's not a provider issue and it's either something with your network configuration (or the box is just slow in general).
If the times do change though, it's a provider issue and any further troubleshooting on your Lan is probably a wasted effort :)
