Actual 1080p does not exist on IPTV, is this correct?

by GTADashcam

I've tried multiple different servers; voodoo, crown, ipguys etc. I've realized that they all advertised UHD, Full HD or even 4k. When in actuality the best we could ever get was 720p. So I stepped away from the game, it's been 6 months. I am thinking about making my return, but before I do... Has any seller began true HD channels? has technology evolved yet? I'm an owner of two mag boxes, T1 and use Kodi on computer.

Why does it matter? You're paying a fucking fraction of the cost of a real sub, and the quality of most of the services is on par. 720p is more than enough. If you want 4k you're really going to have to pay for it as the infrastructure required for it is literally too expensive.

Users need to understand the stuff that goes on behind the scenes and how things work. It's really frustrating reading these posts about users expecting and sometimes demanding shit that doesn't and CAN'T exist.

And for the record 720p is true HD.

And btw I'm not trying to be rude to you, I'm just an asshole when it comes to these things and can't convey my thoughts nicely. So don't take it personally, but if you do, I totally understand.

1080I.

Not 1080p

It's not a thing yet

Dunno, but, 720 is HD and sometimes that's the best you'll get. For example, in the US, the FOX network tops at 720p. They did that because progressive scan (the p part of 720p) looks better for sports than interlaced scan (the i of 1080i). So all the FOX networks max at 720 because that's the source format. FOX decided to be 720 everywhere because that's the best for their sports broadcasts. Is what it is.

As what /u/chevdecker said below there are some channels that do this but with iptv some upgrade the feed like the 1080p feed you see for sky sports is actually 1080i but the provider might be encoding the stream to 1080p instead of the usual 1080i sometimes they get 720p streams and upgrade them 1080i or p other times they just use the raw feed that they source or they get a provider to source for them local

honestfred

Epic seems to get pretty damned close on some channels. I think Fab does too.

I'm with FabIPTV and I can confirm that some channels are FullHD. I don't know if it's "p" or "i".
