Problem with 2 mag boxes, can't connect to any portal.

by GALASASSA

Looking for a bit of help, or if someone can point me in the right direction, I have 2 mag boxes ( 1 x MAG250 and 1 x MAG254w1) that for some reason just won't connect to any portals, (portals are set up correctly, are working when set up on other boxes etc., network is connected and internet is working fine). Have searched for the problem, but have not come across anything that would be of help.

Have updated the software, reset to defaults etc. but still can't get anything to connect. Just keep getting the 'try again?' screen.

Any suggestions welcome.

Can you ping the box on network from other devices , can the mag access other services like Web browser and firmware update.

Thanks, but I have connected other mag boxes and they work fine, same network same settings etc. just something happening with these that is causing a problem.

Boxes are on the network, getting IP addresses etc. and can be pinged, speedtest works, can browse the web on them. No issue with blocking from ISP as other boxes connected fine.

One of them gives the 'STB is blocked, contact your provider' message even though the 'sub' is fine and the box is set up correctly on the server end. Tried it with different providers too (with test subs), and still get the same message with that box (MAG254).

Have entered shit wrong enough times in the past to know to check that I haven't entered shit wrong before trying anything else too.

Where do you live? I wouldn't be surprised if some governments are pressing ISP's to censor things. Although that wouldn't explain why other boxes work. Have you checked your router settings/firewall logs? Try changing the DNS of the boxes to opepdns/google (8.8.8.8)

If you're using fab or epic or other xstream based provider they often ban boxes.

I don't know if this affects you in this case or not, but you need to let us know what services you are using before we can completely figure out your issues at hand.

It could be one of many problems.

Did you ever figure this out?
