You need to have a small amount of tech savvy and a little bit of patience. Cable television is extremely reliable. IPTV is generally reliable, but not always.

Try to find a service with a "catch up" feature just in case you experience problems when a show is airing live.

For the price difference, I am more than happy to incur the small amount of inconvenience that IPTV has compared to cable.

I cant really speak for going straight from cable to IPTV as I was with only Netflix and 'other means' for the longest time. I just signed up so my wife and i could watch HGTV, DIY and Food. So far it is awesome, a channel goes down sometimes but I just change to a different one. I get the games now and some other things that I like. Setting up is pretty easy if you already have a box. The seller should give instructions with pictures and support. Make sure you get a well vetted seller for this. Info should be in the sub or in the pinned thread.

If you get the right service for the iptv box it should be pretty straight forward. I think its simpler that a normal satellite receiver. So if you search through different trail and find a good fast service with a nice layout you should be ok.
