So the grocery store I work for tightened the belt and discontinued DirectTV service instead opting for rooftop mounted antennas for OTA broadcasts.
The legal dept. got wind of the project and said we were in some violation of some FCC rule about broadcasting to the public. We have TVs in break rooms and out in cafes so possible to broadcast sports or other programming to audiences larger than 20 or some stupid rule like that.
Anyways ...
How do the rules and regulations for IPTV work for retail outlets such as this situation?
An ideal situation would be to purchase some IPTV boxes, connect them up to the guest wireless and stream random cooking shows be it food network or otherwise.
Appreciate feedback/points in more specific directions.
Thanks!
I would not recommended IPTV for that scenario as it would also be open to questions of legality. If the dept shut down for going a route that to me is a Legal Route, then IPTV is definitely not a good idea
