What do you look for in a IPTV service / provider?

by AndrewTKIPTV

Dear IPTV users,

We are going to be launching a brand new IPTV service in a couple of weeks and we are interested to know what users look for in this kind of service.

I'm not trying to conduct an official survey here but just want to get an idea of what people in this space expect from a provider.

Granted, a good selection of channel bouqets is expected. But what else woud make a good IPTV service? How important is VOD? How important is catch-up?

And finally, what are you willing to pay for a IPTV service that lives up to your expecations?

Looking forward to some feedback. :-)

You must capture your own streams. I swear half the sellers these days just restream shitty free Kodi streams at a price. Oh you want that obscure channel? Sure! We'll find the most unreliable source possible so we can add it to our list.

Want to gain customers and respect? RELIABILITY. No one cares how many channels you have if it's a dice roll on whether they're working.

I'll take 50 99.9% uptime channels over a bunch of shit anyday. And fuck VOD. I have Netflix, Hulu, hbo, amazon, and a usenet account. I don't need you to download scene releases for me.

if you have 5,000+ channels, i'll immediately skip your service. either those are channels i'll never watch or 4,900 of those are movies/tv series that i can torrent easily. i don't want to see all 121 episodes of the tv series "Lost" or all 60+ episodes of "Game of Thrones" just to pad your numbers.

main thing i'm looking for is sports on demand + catch-up for all the uk/us/ca sports channels. i don't want catch-up for history channel or cooking channel or cartoons because no one watches those. i want to see the barcelona match that i missed earlier (for example) because i was at work. and ffs, check if your catch-up configuration works! 14 hours of unskippable recording for a football match?

second thing i look for is price. anything below $25 for 3 months is acceptable in my book. anything over and i'll pass.

I've been looking the last few weeks and can not find any IPTV that ticks all.

  • 24/7 Channels - Family Guy, Friends, Simpsons etc.

  • Good organisation of the channel groupings

  • So many have no organisation - I know you can do this with xtream but that's extra money. Perfect setup would be

UK Entertainment - UK Movies - UK Sports

US Entertainment - US Movies - US Sports

    24/7 - PPV - Live Football - VOD

  • Working EPG - So many IPTV's have a EPG that is only half populated or not populated at all.

  • Selection of channels should be good but not overkill - The non English channels just fill up my guide and I will never watch them. The same can be said for some VOD but they are all kept to one folder at least.

Price-wise would be no more than £10/12 per month for full package with extra connections available for cheaper cost.

If you can offer all this - I would be very interested.

Better a small amount of core channels, but reliable, better a 720p or heck even SD but it always work, then FHD crap that works 10 seconds every 30 seconds.

VOD is fine newest good quality movies of current year, but seeing 5000 VOD titles of which 4900 are 90's TV shows, is useless.

Good luck.
